The Truth About Life

Someone gave me a little calendar w. some nifty little sayings and such. Don't know who gave it to me - it was just on my desk one day at work.... I like it.
I just got back in the office today from a few days work out of town, so I started peeling away the days. Here's what Saturday's said:

to love life, to love it even
when you have no stomach for it,
and everything you've held dear
crumbles like burnt paper in your hands,
your throat filled with the silt of it.
When grief sits with you, its tropical heat
thickening the air, heavy as water
more fit for gills than lungs;
when grief weights you like your own flesh
only more of it, and obesity of grief,
you think,
how long can a body withstand this?
Then you hold life like a face
between your palms, a plain face,
no charming smile, no violet eyes,
and you say, yes, I will take you
I will love you again.

- Ellen Bass

This is pretty much how I feel about life right now. It's hard. It's not as fun and reckless as it once was; but, it's still to be cherished.
Yes, no matter how crappy circumstances my be, Life is Good!

oh AMEN...lol PERCEPTION is a choice.....shit can happen daily,,,same shit...but we can CHOOSE to look at it differently..."observe" it instead of judging it good or bad..helps relieve some of the "stress" around it. Shit Happens..it just IS...or in Momma speak....Love ya...feel for ya..wish ya peace...HUGS
